Finding Romance on Jekyll Island, Georgia

Encompassing 5,700 acres of beaches and marshlands, canopied by ancient live oaks draped in Spanish moss, and sprinkled with charming beach cottages and resort hotels – Jekyll Island, the smallest of Georgia’s barrier island, lures thousands of visitors each year, including those in search of romance. In fact, Coastal Living named it one of the “top 10 romantic islands in the world.” One of the most famous couples to tie the knot on the Georgia coast was John F. Kennedy, Jr., and Carolyn Bessette, who married and honeymooned on nearby Cumberland Island in 1996.
